We have vacancies for full & part-time Support Workers at our Registered Care service in Crownhill, Milton Keynes.
About the role
We are looking for fun, enthusiastic and motivated people to bring new ideas and experiences for the people we support. They have a range of learning disabilities and in some cases physical disabilities and you will support them in their favourite activities and pastimes.
The individuals love being out and about accessing the community, this could be pubs, dancing, country walks, going on holiday, meal’s out or drawing, pampering sessions , Lego, puzzles and having staff to listen to them
These are active houses with a total of 14 people supported in two neighbouring properties.
Some of the people we support also require help with personal care, dressing and medication. Peg feeding and hoisting are also required in some instances. You will also support their emotional needs and find ways to facilitate good communication – not everyone at these services has verbal communication but we provide full Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) coaching.
You’ll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. There are around three sleep-ins a month, and shift times are 07:30 to 15:00 and 14:30 to 22:00.
The work can be demanding and doesn’t suit everyone, but if it’s right for you, you’ll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service (Frontline Manager).
The registered manager and senior team lead by example, promoting the vision and values of the service. One staff member said, “[Registered manager] is very good at listening, she is very approachable, almost here every day and works her socks off. – CQC Report July 2017
