The feeling of helping people with learning disabilities to live a life that makes sense to them is the most heartfelt. And seeing YOUR personal impact is truly unforgettable
We love what we do and are recognised as an award winning charity for our passion and dedication. Come and join us as a Support Worker full or part-time (experienced or not) in Eastleigh, Hampshire and you’ll soon see why.
In this MacIntyre service, we support two gentlemen in their three bedroomed semi detached shared house with a variety of activities.
Our gentlemen will need support with a range of activities from the everyday living needs and ‘must dos’ (such as assisting with medications, supporting with attending health and medical appointments, supporting with household bills and domestic chores), through to the lighter side of life doing things like becoming involved with the local community, going shopping or out for coffee, day trips and even holiday breaks. There is also some personal care involved with these roles.
Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, they can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support, but they will never forget how you help to make them feel calm and supported.
You’ll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays. Shift patterns include (7:00 – 09:00) or (16:00 – 22:00), (07:00 – 22:00) and a sleep-in shift: (22:00 – 07:00)
What we need from you
Firstly, you don’t need experience to become a Support Worker but it’s not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no two days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it’s something you’ll never forget.
As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we’ll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support.
Full-time is 37.5 hours per week but if you are interested in part-time, let us know how many hours per week you can work on your application form.
Who are we?
We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.
We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behaviour Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.
